About the Department
The Department of Wood Science was formed in 1982 as one of the three departments including Forest Science and Forest Resource Management that comprise the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia. The Department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs leading to B.Sc., and M.Sc., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees, respectively. The undergraduate program includes advanced wood products processing, industrial processing technology, business management and marketing, and science, engineering and biotechnology. The graduate degrees are offered in many fields related to wood science & technology, biotechnology and the forest products industry, processing and business.
